Short Description: Indian Air Force has released the AFCAT 01/2026 Notification inviting online applications from eligible men and women to join as Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officers in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) branches. The online application process will start from 17 November 2025 (11:00 AM) and will remain open till 14 December 2025 (11:30 PM) through the official website https://afcat.edcil.co.in.

A total of approximately 340 vacancies have been announced, including Flying, Ground Duty (Technical), and Non-Technical branches. The AFCAT written exam will be conducted on 31 January 2026 (Saturday). Candidates must be Indian citizens aged between 20 to 26 years depending on the branch.

Eligible candidates must have 60% marks in graduation, with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level for Flying and Technical branches. The selection process includes Online Written Test (AFCAT), Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interview, and Medical Examination.

Application fee for AFCAT entry is ₹550 + GST, while NCC Special Entry candidates are exempted. Selected candidates will join courses commencing in January 2027 at Air Force Academy, Hyderabad.

AFCAT 01/2026 Batch Notification 2025: Age Limits

  • Flying Branch (AFCAT & NCC Special Entry):
    • Age between 20 to 24 years
    • Born between 02 January 2003 to 01 January 2007 (both dates inclusive)
    • Upper age limit for candidates holding a valid Commercial Pilot License (DGCA India): up to 26 years
    • Born between 02 January 2001 to 01 January 2007 (both dates inclusive)
  • Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branches:
    • Age between 20 to 26 years
    • Born between 02 January 2001 to 01 January 2007 (both dates inclusive)
  • Marital Status:
    • Candidate must be unmarried at the time of commencement of training.
    • Marriage during training is not permitted and will lead to disqualification.

  • Stage 1: Online Written Exam (AFCAT)
    • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
    • Subjects: General Awareness, Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability, Reasoning & Military Aptitude
    • Marks: 300 | Duration: 2 Hours
  • Stage 2: AFSB Interview (Air Force Selection Board)
    • Includes: Intelligence Test, Group Discussion, Psychology Test & Personal Interview
    • Centers: Dehradun, Mysuru, Gandhinagar, Varanasi & Guwahati
