1. Basic Pay & Pay Scale

The basic pay and pay scale are determined by the Pay Level assigned to each post under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

Note: The Basic Pay (BP) is the starting salary at the time of joining, which then increases annually within the specified Pay Scale.

2. Allowances Included (Gross Salary Components)

EMRS staff receive attractive allowances, which are added to the Basic Pay to calculate the Gross Salary. These rates are subject to change based on Central Government announcements (like DA revisions).

The In-Hand Salary (Net Salary) is calculated by the formula:

The final in-hand amount will vary depending on the city of posting (due to HRA differences) and the current DA rate.

• Income Tax (TDS): Deducted as per applicable income tax slabs.
• Professional Tax: (Varies by State/UT).
• Other Deductions: CGHS subscription (if applicable), Insurance schemes, etc.

The EMRS salary structure is highly stable and ensures consistent growth:

• Annual Increments: Employees receive an Annual Increment (usually 3% of the Basic Pay) every year, moving them one step forward in their Pay Level matrix.
• DA Hikes: Dearness Allowance (DA) is revised twice a year (January and July) by the Central Government, significantly increasing the total Gross Salary.
• Promotions/Career Progression: Advancement to a higher post automatically results in a jump to a higher Pay Level, leading to substantial salary growth.
  • TGT can be promoted to PGT (Move from Level 7 to Level 8).
  • PGT can be promoted to Vice Principal (Level 10) and subsequently Principal (Level 12) through seniority, experience, and departmental exams.
• New Pay Commission: Historically, the salary matrix gets substantially revised and upgraded with the implementation of every new Pay Commission (e.g., the transition from 6th CPC to 7th CPC). The next pay commission is expected in the coming years.
