Short Description: The North Eastern Railway (NER), Gorakhpur has released the official Act Apprentice Notification 2026–27 under Notification No. NER/RRC/Act Apprentice/2026-27 dated 15 October 2025. Eligible candidates are invited to apply online for Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1962.
The online application starts on 16 October 2025 (10:00 AM) and ends on 15 November 2025 (5:00 PM). Applications must be submitted through the official NER website – www.ner.indianrailways.gov.in. A total of 1104 apprentice vacancies are available across multiple units, including Gorakhpur, Izzatnagar, Lucknow, Gonda, and Varanasi workshops.
Applicants must have passed Class 10 (High School) with at least 50% marks and hold an ITI certificate in the relevant trade. The age limit is 15 to 24 years as of 16 October 2025, with age relaxation for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), and PwBD (10 years).
Selection will be based purely on merit, calculated from the average marks of Matriculation and ITI. No written exam or interview will be conducted. Selected candidates will receive a stipend as per government apprenticeship norms.

Railway RRC NER Gorakhpur Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2025 Selection ProcessThe selection process for the Railway RRC NER Gorakhpur Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27 is purely merit-based and does not involve a written examination or interview. The process is as follows: Merit List Preparation:
The selection will be based on a merit list prepared by taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation (10th) and the ITI examination. Equal weightage is given to both marks.- Candidates must have a minimum of 50% (aggregate) marks in Matriculation.
- Candidates may opt for more than one unit/place. If their merit position does not permit the allotment of their first choice, they will be allotted a subsequent choice.
Document Verification (DV):
Candidates provisionally selected based on the merit list will be called for Document Verification at Gorakhpur.- Candidates must bring a copy of the online application, a Medical Certificate in the prescribed format, four passport-sized photographs, and all their original certificates & testimonials for verification.
- The schedule for Document Verification will be published on the NER’s website.
Medical Fitness:
Selected candidates called for document verification must submit a Medical Certificate in the attached prescribed format, which must be issued by an authorized Medical Officer.Training Commencement:
The apprentice training of successful candidates will start at the allotted Division/Unit.
